The France 2024 Olympic games in Paris will likely be based on Blockchain Technology and the tickets will be issued via the blockchain as well so let’s read more today in our latest Blockchain news.
If it gets approved by the French authorities, the tickets for the France 2024 Olympic games in Paris will likely be based on the blockchain. The French Government Olympics committee is willing to run the Paris 2024 Olympic games with minimum security risks for the fans and as such, the organization could incorporate blockchain technology into the ticketing system and even provide personalized passes for spectators.
According to the recent coverage, Michael Cadot who is an interministerial delegate of the French Olympic committee submitted a report to the Prime Minister that contained some potential amendments for the Olympic games. One recommendation focused on the ticketing system which will support the event and in his view, the permits based on the blockchain will provide fans with more security. According to his plan, tickets should be non-transferable and can be sent by the organization a few days before the start of the games. The spectators will be able to acquire the tickets with a QR code using blockchain and once entering the venue, everyone will check in and deactivate the ticket.
Cadot thinks that the personalization will grant people plenty of benefits as they will be able to receive messages via digital channels for issues like how to reach the venue to other safety procedures. He argued that the blockchain ticketing could be integrated into other major sports events as well:
“These provisions are already planned for the 2023 Rugby World Cup and the Olympics and Paralympics 2024 and practiced by major events such as the French International Tennis.”
The update comes after the fiasco at the Champions League final which was delayed by over 30 minutes because thousands of fans turned up without tickets and had fake ones. While Real Madrid was crowned soccer champion of the EU for the 14th time, the British supported with the fake passes could not attend the match after the efforts to break security. Assuming France will fulfill its ambitions, it will not be the first time the Olympic Games and the crypto industry were tied together. Last summer we saw the Indian exchange BitBNS award the local medical winners from the Tokyo Olympics with crypto and for every gold medalist recieved $2700 in crypto.
For its part, China also aimed to popularize and spread the adoption of the digital yuan in 2022 at the Beijing Olympics and enabled contestants to use the financial products despite the concerns coming from US politicians.
