HTC launches new metaverse phone that will be preloaded with “Viverse” apps and can manage your crypto and NFTs as we can see more today in our cryptocurrency news.
The smartphone manufacturer HTC launched its first “Viverse” phone that is compatible with the metaverse platform and has NFT functionalities. The HTC Desire 22 Pro came preloaded with apps that will allow you to access and manage the metaverse content like NFT or crypto from the phone. The Viverse app allows you to buy NFTs in a digital marketplace and create a virtual space.
Like other crypto phones, the Desire 22 HTC Pro comes with a built-in crypto wallet for ETH and Polygon-based assets. The device is optimized to work alongside HTC’s Vive Flow VR headset and will enable you to wirelessly mirror the content to the VR headset while the Vive Manager app allows you to set up and to manage VR hardware.
The smartphone will open a new and immersive experience as the best partner for Vive Flow whether it’s meeting colleagues in VR or enjoying a private cinema anywhere you go according to Shen Ye, the Head of Product at HTC. Billed as a powerful midrange device, the HTC Desire 22 Pro is not going to be challenging to the top-tier Android or iPhone devices. It will feature a 6.6-inch Gorilla Glass display with 1080×2412 pixel resolution as well as a 120 Hz refresh rate while also having Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G and 8 GB Ram and 128 GB of storage.
Like most smartphones, there’s a suite of cameras to snap away with it and in the Desire Pro case, there’s a 64-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel depth-sensing camera, a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens and 32-megapixel front-facing camera. For video shooting, there’s image stabilization, slow-motion features, and night mode.
HTC has been an early adopter of crypto technology and as long as 2018, it launched the Exodus 1 smartphone with a built-in hardware wallet and the ability to run a full BTC node. The smaller Exodus followed and at that time, the Chief Decentralized offer said:
“in five years it will be trivial to have a Bitcoin node or other blockchain nodes stored on your phone.”
Three years down the line we are not there yet but we can see rival manufacturer Samsung including a secure element for storing crypto private keys on the devices. HTC’s ceded ground to these smartphone rivals is focusing on the Vive Virtual reality headsets these days.
