Investment Portfolio Of Animoca Brands Worth Over $1.5B

The Investment Portfolio of Animoca Brands is now worth over $1.5 billion and the gaming investment branch also reported $573 milion in bookings for the first months of 2022 so let’s read more today in our latest cryptocurrency news.

The Hong Kong-based NFT and metaverse project Animoca Brands’ investment portfolio hit $1.5billion across 340 investments at the end of April as per the unaudited results that were released recently. The bookings and other income hit $148 million for the fourth quarter of last year and $573 million for the first four months this year. The bookings include NFT sales and token sales while other income includes gains and losses from investmetns and digital asset holdings.

Cash balances hit $98 million and digital asset holdings hit $211 million at the end of  April. The digital asset holdings included USDT, USD, BUSD, ETH, and BTC, and other digital asset holdings included third-party tokens and added $659 million. Digital asset reserves were at $4.2 billion and included the tokens SAND, PRIMATE, REVV, TOWER, and GMEE. Animoca’s key busienss units included GMEE, nWay, Blowfish Studios, The Sandbox, and Grease Monkey. Earlier this year, Animoca raised almost $360 million in a funding round at a $5.5 billion valuation which represents a doubling in the value in three months.

As recently reported, Animoca Brands is not done acquiring more studios and recently it acquired three-game studios including Eden GAmes. The co-founder Yat Siu said that Animoca could acquire more studios and discussed the F1 Delta Time closure and increasing the metaverse first IP focus. Animoca Brands is a leading investor in the blockchain gaming and NFT startup but also published its own FNT game including the ETH-based metaverse experience The Sandbox and Animoca have already been on an acquisition spree. Grease Monkey and Eden are both focused on racing games which first into Animoca’s existing REVV token system which includes REVV Racing on Polygon which is a sidechain scaling solution for Ethereum.

Darewise in the meantime is a french startup founded in a larger part by the former Ubisoft developers and the first project is a huge multiplayer online game called Life Beyond that will use the NFTs for in-game items and the NFTs act as a deed of ownership to a digital item and can include things like Weapons, vehicles, apparel, and virtual land.
