The biggest mystery surrounding the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, remains unsolved after a 15-year saga of top cryptocurrency Bitcoin. Multiple theories have popped up for finding the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, and a new theory on Satoshi Nakamoto has now surfaced.
A New Theory on Satoshi Nakamoto
A Reddit user has shared an interesting theory in the subreddit CryptoCurrency. The new Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity theory highlights 3 people who were IBM researchers and involved in early blockchain research work that predates Bitcoin.
Hal Finney, computer scientist who received the first Bitcoin from Satoshi Nakamoto, talked about zero-knowledge proofs at the Crypto98 conference, recent reports have revealed. Reddit user said he found the names of Satoshi Hada and Toshiaki Tanaka on the same event program info page.
The first point in the theory — there was a person named Satoshi in the same building with Hal Finney at a Crypto event in 1998.
Google search “Satoshi Hada Naka Moto” to stumble upon a tweet that shows 3 names: SATOSHI Hada, Toshiaki TaNAKA, and Naohiko UraMOTO. The IBM profile search with “https://researcher.draco.res.ibm.com/researcher/view_person_subpage.php?id=899” indicates Satoshi Hada is linked to IBM.
He added “I then started researching the names and things like projects and timelines all check out. It is funny that while all these names talk about public, private keys, blockchain and crypto, NONE talk about Bitcoin.”
A Google search of “satoshi hada Cypherpunk” shows he was part of it and an email surfaced from December 2001. Cypherpunk movement advocates for the widespread application of strong cryptography and privacy-enhancing technology for open-source and decentralization. The second point in the theory – association with cypherpunk and blockchain.
Reddit user shared a Twitter account of Satoshi Hada. In response to a tweet from 2017, someone made a comment in backward text in 2021 saying Satoshi Nakamoto, almost 3 years ago the Reddit post. He believes Satoshi Nakamoto could at least 3 people that were IBM researchers involved in early blockchain research work that predates Bitcoin.
Hal Finney is not Satoshi Nakamoto, even Jameson Lopp provided fresh evidence challenging the theory.
Judge James Mellor has also ruled against Australian computer scientist Craig Wright, stating that he is neither an author of the Bitcoin whitepaper nor a creator of the popular cryptocurrency. The judge even ordered a freeze on $7.6 million of Wright’s assets worldwide.

Transaction in Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin Wallet
A transaction was executed on January 6 as someone purchased 27 BTCs from crypto exchange Binance and sent them to Satoshi Nakamoto’s wallet address 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa. The crypto community anticipated the return of Bitcoin father Satoshi Nakamoto.
Satoshi Nakamoto mined the genesis Bitcoin block on January 3, 2009, with 50 BTC added to wallet address 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa.
